Sure, it makes sense now that I’ve seen the recommendations, but previously I just assumed that it worked instantly on contact. I’m guessing that the majority of people haven’t considered the mineral deposition rate of fluoride in toothpaste. :)

OK, got it.

Was just curious about what you were referring to specifically. Perhaps the German instances having to follow their speech restriction laws?

BTW, the vast majority of people here go by nicknames instead of real names, for anonymity, privacy, and I suppose security reasons.

There’s also some instances that are seemingly trolling, some that seem state sponsored and local to certain nations that have to toe the line of the authoritarian regime opinions.
?

That would be a great result that I look forward to.

Same here. I’m glad your dentist told you though.

Thanks, that site is awesome. I’m pretty sure that it was the one I used some time ago to learn a few new lacing methods.

Got it, thanks, I’ve updated my comment.

I’ve updated my comment. I wouldn’t have intuitively thought about this because why would I think that it would take time for Fluoride to take effect, or that whatever is left after rinsing wouldn’t do the job? Thanks.

Where did you learn this? I’ve never heard this recommendation before and it sounds pretty out there.
Edit: it turns out that apparently both the American Dental Association and the National Health Service of the UK recommend not rinsing immediately after brushing. Huh, TIL.

See my reply parallel to yours for a video of it.

Yes, it wasn’t recently, but learning this made a huge difference for me. I actually learned it from a TED talk, lol.

The Lemmy search turned up two mental health communities with many subscribers:
!mentalhealth@hexbear.net - 7.61K subscribers
!mentalhealth@lemmy.world - 7.5K subscribers
Edit: the hexbear one seems dead, despite having more subscribers. The world one seems relatively active.
First, it could be very well be different people. We’re at what, 50k monthly active users now? There will be some different opinions even among a small group of people.
Second, the two positions can be compatible. For example, I’m very against the death penalty, but the thought has crossed my mind that when someone is convicted of a brutal murder, for example, and receives the death penalty, the state shouldn’t be allowed to kill the convict, but the relatives, friends, or loved ones of the victim should have the option to do so legally if they wish to. I know, it’s harsh, but I think that this would be more logical than the current system. The loved ones of the victim would have both a better motive to kill the convict AND also the added burden of considering the negative effects to themselves of following through with that decision.
