I am feeling that a lot of acts which harm our ecosystem, cause global warming and cause damage to other beings too. What things can I do to minimize the harm from my side? I try not to throw rubbish on street but that is only thing I know. I don’t have recycling bins where I live.
Also go fishing for problematic species, take home your catch for dinner, and do the world a favor.
Walleye are delicious and have spread beyond their native range, causing problems in some of their new homes. They consume a lot of juvenile salmon in the Columbia River, for example. Eat a walleye, save salmon.
The Washington state fish & game department also publishes a list of “overabundant” mountain lakes where the trout population needs to be thinned. They would love it if more people hiked in and caught a meal or two.
