Might be my least favourite storyline. What happened to him was fucking traumatic, but he’s a dude so it’s funny, hurhurhur. Wtf.

It’s not a topic for levity in my all-gay fantasy universe; it’s a scientific imperative! Also it happened to Deanna Troi.

No, they just made her sit at the far end of the table while they discussed options without asking her.

That was a pretty rough scene, but I did appreciate that as soon as she made her wishes known Picard acknowledged that it was her decision, not theirs.

I didn’t love that no one asked how she was feeling about being SA’ed in her sleep, and as the ships counselor, she didn’t really have anyone to talk to about it.

But they would have many more chances to behave better after Troi was physically, sexually or psychically violated! (They did not behave better)

      S1E5, “Unexpected”.

The general plot goes that The Enterprise started have random system failures, they eventually found were being caused by a ship riding in their wake because they had some malfunction.

After some back and forth, Enterprise sends Tucker over to help fix things, and Tucker kinda sort of gets hot for the engineer lady that’s taking care of him. (apparently he’s into electric-eel-people who feed him jello-water.) At one point they went to a holodeck where she has him on a row boat with a sunset and whips out this “game” they play.

it’s ths bowl of glass marble looking things that they both put their hands in, that lets the other person read their mind.

After that, Tucker goes back to the Enterprise, only to find out that he’s got nipples growing on his wrist and the “game” was their version of sex. they have a short window of time to find them before the pregnancy can’t be transferred to someone else.

T’Pol was furious at him for it, too. That always struck me. Their relationship didn’t start until the 3rd season, but her reaction here is strong.

it’s pretty wild to just sex it up with random people you met that week. but also the lady completely took advantage of him, which was bad, her excuse was that she didn’t think they were genetically compatible enough to tell him they were having sex.

Male usually refers to biological sex. This is why you should use neither male nor female to refer to anyone or anything unless you explicitly mean just that.

Trip is a cis man and the first male human to become pregnant… a biological curiosity!

Still feels like you are struggling with saying a simple thing by using hyper specific language that excludes where it is not necessary or helpful.

Why not say “Trip is the first human male to get pregnant naturally.” Them being a cis man or beeb boob 🤖 doesn’t matter.

The quote from the show uses “male” which is outdated sex-based language. My caption uses the more modern gender-based “man.” I used “cis” to help clear up the confusion because he is not trans.

in what world is “male” outdated? It refers to the biological sex, defined by your genome. Being a trans man does not magically make you male, just a man. Sex and gender are two separate things

If only the social world adhered to science. We would all understand that trans men are men, trans women are women, and this endless debate wouldn’t take up so much of my time.
