“And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run - you missed the starting gun.”

To anyone who finds this line chilling and profound, I have good news for you: You’re still young! Past a certain age, you start turning around to realize this or that thing was 30, 40 or even more years back. 10? Ha! Seriously, if that seems like a lot then the good news is you must still be pretty young. Still, of course, don’t miss the point of it.

I’m in that transition period right now. Where I’m fully realizing the weight of how fast time has flown and how much I’m aging but yet I’ve still (theoretically) have a semi decent amount ahead of me. Every year the song hits a bit harder.

Just take care of your body. Get in good exercise, sleep and diet habits. Get rid of any addictions. Seriously you’ll thank yourself.

All the rest about life choices and regrets and whatever else, I don’t think there is any universal advice.

I will make a broader statement with the addictions. Try to minimize dependence in all its forms. Not just chemical, but social, physical and economical. Easy to say, difficult to do but it is worth it.
