Starfleet Academy ofc includes a gay pacifist Klingon, who has had to handle prejudicial behavior in the past if I recall, but in a particular Klingon honor framing rather than outright homophobia.

Theyre open-minded as a rule in some ways, less so in others.

Not eating meat is probably the biggest impact you can have, followed by using public transportation whenever possible.

Grow indigenous pollinator-friendly plants. Minimize your trash output as much as you can. Vote against expanding the military budget if youre in the US.

Fr tho going vegetarian/vegan is huge on a personal scale, large-scale farming is tremendously harmful.

Why would European riots/protests spill over to America? That’s not how this works.

Americans have been protesting. Rioting, not so much. Those are much more rare in the US than France.

Mass movements spring from the ground up, and the American working class quite famously doesn’t see themselves as part of the global working class. Solidarity protests are few and far between.

Kinda, sure. I know some people and we help each other when we can. And there’s networking stuff you can do, local small business meetings where you can hand out some cards.

But competition is spiking. Lots of people are starting in trades like mine now.

Self-employed tradesman, ill probably have to get a normal job. Which sucks for everyone, I keep my costs way lower for customers but digging up business and doing the work is a real challenge. And obviously ill miss my freedom. But at least ill just have to pull my 40hrs.

Fair, I meant it more in the user space sense. If your OS came with Blender and you never use Blender, uninstall it.

If your computer runs smoothly and youre not having a bunch of headaches, you’re generally better off tinkering with what youve got than going through the hassle of installing a whole new OS.

I literally don’t know the differences between distros

Its just what they come packaged with. Its all the same kernel. Do you like the software Mint comes with? Have you felt a need to replace a bunch? Does your computer do what you want it to?

Thats really about it. Debian is “good for servers” because it comes with software for running servers. Kali is “good for hackers” because it comes with software for hacking. Mint is “good for newbies” because it comes with software newbies expect.

Thats really pretty much it. Theres nothing stopping you from installing the software you want. If you start to feel like your distro has a bunch of stuff you dont need, then maybe you can look to other distros that dont come with that stuff.
