I’d be curious to see how much money content makes every year after creation. Surely they make the vast vast majority of their money in the first few years. Surely you shouldn’t need 150+ years or whatever for a profit.
That’s a good point (last paragraph) and something you see often in moral debates. It’s probably why people are always so eager to ask extra questions about hypotheticals.

If someone wanted to take your rights away, maybe even didn’t believe you should be allowed to be alive, would you be unprofessional for not wanting to use software they make? Would you be unprofessional for making your own version of that if the project refused to remove them as the lead? No. You wouldn’t. A way to solve that problem as a professional is to fork the project. What’s not professional is calling people doing that unprofessional.

be professional ffs
You lost me here. It’s not “unprofessional” to want people to not be transphobic.
Common sense will also tell you that if the magnetic field stops fluctuating in an induction stove top, that the heat being added to the pan will also instantly stop.
BUT [gas] heats 10 times faster
Everything I have seen has said that induction is the fastest, followed by traditional electric, and then gas is the slowest.
I’m also dubious about this “instant control of heat”. Why wouldn’t turning an induction stove off be the same thing? They both stop heating the pan, and then the only heat left is what’s in the pan. The big difference being that the gas option has heated up the room as well, because it shoots heat all over the place, while the induction stove only heats the pan directly. Electric I get, it’s going to hold some heat in the coil, but I don’t see how induction differs from gas in this regard.
And there was a recent supreme court decision that basically neutered federal agencies like the EPA, so things will probably be even more tied to congressional slowness.
