I think this little business was something like “Two Brothers” or something like that. They were in the Tahlequah / Park Hill region. :)

I am immensely thankful they were there, because otherwise the only other option was Hughesnet (immensely expensive and terrible) or dial-up.

So they were the only reason I had a mostly-reasonable connection to the outside world, despite that download speed cap. :p

yeah, the campaign is much more fun

I remember it being all fun and games until you had to spend a bunch of turns blowing up impassable pipelines, then it got brutal hard. 💀💀💀

That’s actually super awesome, because DSL is painful nowadays and satellite can get right the heck outta here blagh!

One time when I lived in NE Oklahoma where it was very hilly, we paid a super small ISP that was a couple dudes who’d put a line-of-sight receiver on your house and point it at their radio tower they rented space on.

Browsing was generally fine but downloading was so slow that, I’m not even kidding, it was faster and more convenient to have someone in a metro area across the country log into my Steam account and “back up” a few games to a USB drive I mailed them, and mail it back.
