That’s understandable. It gave you an experience you loved and that’s ultimately what matters. I just have a thing about wailing voices that hits me like nails to a chalkboard. It’s also why I couldn’t get into Led Zeppelin even though John Bonham was a master drummer, right up there with the likes of Bruford and Portnoy. Robert Plant’s voice just somehow cut through so much of it and takes me out of the experience every time.

It’s a great album but I’m gonna be downvoted here for saying this: the screaming in Great Gig in the Sky was so damn awful. The first time hearing the album was an amazing experience that kind of sucks you in to the music but damn, when the screaming started it was like being woken up with a bucket of cold water. It totally ruined that track for me.
All that said Pink Floyd got me to Prog Rock and opened me up to Alan Parsons, Camel, Yes, and so many other great acts. The golden age of that genre was far too short.
Why would you ruin its seasoning?
Engineering definitely lets you you enjoy both options simultaneously. I’ve dealt with liquid nitrogen leaks, a near miss with an icicle falling on me, battery fires, and seen accidental finger sticks with used medical devices. Working with spreadsheets, test reports, and programming scripts in a noisy open concept office is usually the better experience. Usually.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do millennials keep looking significantly more youthful than previous generations?English

Modern boxy homes would be pretty great if their roofs are also designed to be used as a patio area with awnings or solar panels. It just seems like a waste otherwise.

All the time!
