Depends on the specs of the minicomputer you get and what you want to do with it. It really doesn’t take much processing power to run just streams. As long as the distro runs smoothly on the machine it will work just fine.

I ended up getting a mini computer with Linux and getting a Rii keyboard remote. Then I can browse to any streaming service with a browser or kodi.

4·4 days agoIt’s windows 11 - it overwrites settings and installs whatever the fuck it wants. It’s not as bad where you are because of the EU laws. I then spend some time removing all the shit etc it forced onto the machine this time.
It’s a never ending game of whack-a-mole.

506·5 days agoIt was in college and I sat down next to her in the library. I did my best to ask her out but she shot me down.
2 years later we were in the same genetics class and I sat down next to her the first day. We ended up being assigned as lab partners much to her dismay. She immediately requested a new partner. Professor told her to “Either work with him or take an F.”
4 weeks later we were counting fruit flies and she invited back to her place for dinner. After dinner she pounced on me (she has a different version of the story).
Couple weeks later the genetics professor caught us in the stairwell kissing before class and about died laughing.
We got married a year later after she graduated. Been married for 25 years now.

17·5 days agoAcceptable excuse. I am all in with Linux except that one program that uses .net and I can not get wine to work.
So the laptop with win11 comes out every month or so. After the 3-4 hours of updates and 2-3 reboots, it’s up and running for the 30minute task I have.

1·6 days agoWe got a 3’ toy grabber for my younger son when he was like 5 years old.
He is 16 now and we use it to reach all sorts of things behind the dryer, under furniture, etc. It’s a plastic toy yet it has lasted for years and works surprisingly well.
Just staring here now. First 20 minutes her so only about 30. So far a little girl is dressed as odie and her brother is dressed at Garfield. She was happy because she got to lick her brother.
I get around 250+ trick or treaters every year. So I have 30lbs of candy ready, I might need another 10 or so. Maybe I’ll go get some of my favorites. You know just in case I need it.
Last year I barely had enough and only had like 5 pieces of candy at the end of the night. I had to wrestle my 16 year old to get into his stash the next day. It was so much easier to steal his candy when he was little. Little shits been hitting the weights this year as well.
India is nuts as well.
Honduras has the added spice of being very mountainous around the major population zones. Most major roads on the edge of a cliff or very steep hill. So you get the “this traffic is nuts” combined with “oh fuck that’s a long ways down.” Frequent mud/rock slides along the routes add a bit more spice as well.
North Africa is a bit wild and slightly terrifying. For pure terror Honduras takes the blue ribbon.
Come stay at my house for an evening. Last year we got over 250. It’s pretty insane.

I haven’t had any issues. Then again I usually purchase equipment that is known to play nice with Linux.
