Yeah, a lot of these I’d have upvoted here indivudally, but even with UBO blocking a lot, this article just looks like it wants to open a pop-under that looks suspiciously like a Win10 dialog box.
I’m also on Mastodon as https://hachyderm.io/@BoydStephenSmithJr .

I remember some authority mentioning that our Jacobson’s organ is present, but all the passageways to it are closed up. This likely means since the sense wasn’t present during early brain development, even if we attempted to use it (making / opening passageways) it likely would be a very dulled sensation, if anything.

I always enjoyed opening them as a kid. The pop was just as satisfying as a jack in the box, plus in a few minutes there’d be hot biscuits.

Make sure the pieces are styled to remind one of necessary body parts, too. (Tho, operation was a bit “metaphorical” with things like “water on the knee”.)

I remember reading a story about someone that called 911 from their car thinking they had been shot and their brain was leaking out. Turned out some biscuits had violently popped, threw one at the back of their head, and when it hit they instinctively grabbed for it, and were holding the biscuit against their head, convinced it was their brain matter.
It was purported as true at the time, but I have a lot of doubts – probably just one of the many urban legends that got passed around last century.
Stop the movie! He’s broken in halve!

Rent-seeking behavior will be the death of Capitalism.
Yeah, I used to get nuts, but I go through them quickly, easily eating more calories at a faster rate than if I get grabbed some Cheetos^™.
Now, I air-pop my own popcorn. The additional effort is a helpful chance to ask myself if I really want to snack, and a full half cap of kernels (which is a lot of popped corn) and as much EVOO as I care to dose it with is still a lot fewer calories than I would get from nuts, and it takes longer to eat.

It would be better if lemmy/piefed supported treating mastodon posts as cross-postable, and better still if it auto-detected a link to a fediverse post and at least suggested a cross-post instead of a link post. Comments could turn into repiles, further cross-posts (or even the original) could show up as boosts or quote-toots, upvotes into stars.
In particular, I want the 100s of MB of JS so that I can send David a star; I have the firefox extension that automatically finds the post from my home instance if I want to interact with it, since I’m on a personal computer and already singed-in to my home instance, the bookmarking action is almost transparent, tho it does cause a full-page load.
I never was really interested, though plenty of people in my family hunt. In Arkansas while I was in secondary school, we did all have to take a mandatory Hunter’s Safety course. And, in the area were I live right now, I’m sure there are families that benefit from the additional caloric supply, maxing out their tags during rifle season.
I have mixed feelings around the other points you raise, that I find it hard to articulate. But, I don’t have any better solution to overpopulation.
I’ve been present at killing, cleaning, and (later) butchering of rabbit, deer and cow. But, I do try to get as few calories from animal products as I can. I was vegan at home for many months, tho not currently.
