  • Yeah I agree the croissant ones are probably just the same dough as the biscuits, just cut up differently.

They seem like they puff up a bit more though. But really similar.

You ever have a croissant crust pizza?

I think dijorno brand had them for a while. The crust is like the Pillsbury croissants.

It’s pretty good fresh. But crust on edges gets hard if you reheat it layer. Though that’s true for most pizza crust.

Idk how healthy it is considering croissants have so much butter in them. I only bought it a few times. But it was tasty.

  • It’s premade dough that cooks into biscuits. But not the cookie sweet kind.

American biscuits which are mostly just butter and flour. They are pretty good fresh. Like muffins but get dry and stale fast. Like muffins.

Part of the prep (if you are making home made,) is rolling the dough out and layering/folding it over and over.

So the biscuits pull apart easily. Like in the direction of hamburger buns. Making it easy to turn them into little breakfast sandwiches.

Where I’m from, in the Midwest, it’s very popular to eat them with sausage gravy. Just the biscuits and gravy. Nothing else.

Used to be cheap to make at home and even cheap at restaurants.

A lot of (all?) 24 hr tuck stop restersunts serve them. So it’s also popular with drunk people at 3 am.

(Truck stop restaurants are usually small dinners attached to gas stations. Usually outside city limits. That are open 24 hrs to serve truckers. But also popular with night people. Sometimes they even have showers. )

  • I have another story that I heard from a guy who was staying at the same air BNB as me. (It had multiple rooms that they rented out).

We were chatting in the kitchen and I told him I love to hear interesting people-stories. Especially bizarre ones.

Here is the story he told me.

His brother’s gf (age in the early 20s) had been hired by her professor to pet sit an old dog while the professor and her husband were in Europe for a week or two.

This young lass had been told the medium/large sized dog was old but otherwise seemed healthy.

A few days into this pet sitting gig, the dog unexpectedly died of unknown causes. But was old. So probably health problem.

She contacted the owners. She wasn’t sure what to do with their beloved pet dog’s body. Too big to fit in the freezer.

The owners asked her to have the dog cremated.

This young lass, being in the city and young did not have a car of her own. So she had to consider the best way to transport the dog and decided on putting the dog in a large rolling suitcase.

So she does this. And uses public transportation to get to the vet clinic that will have the dog cremated.

She heads out to her destination via public bus.

She gets off at her stop. Checks her phone to look at a map. Get her bearrings and such as she’s unfamiliar with where she is going.

As she is distracted, a thief sees an opportunity to rob this young lady of her medium/large suitcase.

Surely there must be something of value in such a large heavy suitcase.

She is unable to catch the person who stole it as she didn’t notice it had been lifted right away.

She then had to contact the owners again and inform them that someone stole their dogs corpse.

Then the guy telling me this story and I contemplated the fate of the suitcase, and the reaction of the theif after they hauled this suitcase a decent distance. Maybe all the way to their own place, only to unzip it and discover a dead dog.
