really? i had two 1tb drives (different model) and for some reason their size was slightly different and one was smaller (as in a few bytes?) so i had to shrink the partition size to dd the data over.

there’s a proprietary word processor that’s prevalent where I live called Hangul (*.hwp). their public HWP format documentation is terrible and until very recently there weren’t many methods to read HWP files other than using their proprietary windows/mac program. (this program is literally essential for reading government docs…)

then very recently some dev ‘vibecoded’ a web based equivalent in rust/wasm here and it works surprisingly well. occasionally a few documents are distorted but otherwise it’s great for viewing.

am in south korea… samsung/hynix semiconductors are selling like crazy and that heavily lifts the numbers like GDP, but actual economy feels terrible overall. living prices are rising heavily while wages are stagnant.

it’s not an antifeature (trivial to disable) so i’m ok with it.

my laptop has an extremely shitty trackpad that sometimes decides to stop functioning until a power cycle, so i have the touchscreen configured to work like a trackpad with xf86 mtrack driver and use it when my trackpad fucks up.
