I had a drunk sunburned warty redneck try to give me a ride in his pickup truck. We were riding the tram back to the Disney World parking lot. He was very loud and insistent, much to the horror of the rest of the high school marching band mates around us, but he left without incident before we had gotten back to our buses. Someone let me know after he left that his fly had been open the entire time.

It was a very confusing experience for 16 year old introverted (male) me.

I’m guessing the brackets are just supposed to be a direct replacement for double quote symbols.

So the proper grammar of:

“This is an example,” she said.

Is the same as:

<This is an example,> she said.

The issue is more him checking out other women right in front of her in a way that makes her feel inadequate or at least unattended. If it’s that obvious to her that he’s doing it, he’s also probably doing it in a way that the women he’s staring at will notice.

Dunno if it’s a break-up worthy offense, but it’s probably not great for her self-esteem and communicating that to him is a good move. Maybe not with the champagne bottle though.
