As a voyager user, I actually like the lack of notifications. I understand not everyone will agree, but I don’t want this app to be able to interrupt me.

But from a technical perspective, I think it is probably a non trivial problem to solve, since the server w; uld need a way to let the client know there is a new notification, which would mean either having a constant connection open (wasting battery life), using google Firebase (which I imagine there’s a solid overlap of Lemmy users and degooglers), or the app and server supporting unified push. You’d also have to account for multiple accounts, potentially on different instances, to effectively multiplying the above.
