But then she cozies up to the star fleet counter revolution and romances the collaborationist law enforcement officer.
She took her time with Odo, but overall he was defended by those imprisoned in Terok Nor. Something about being the only impartial judge. Still problematic, but the provisional government arrested basically all the other collaborators so the Bajorans must have been okay with Odo’s actions
So I guess it was easier for her to forgive him
It’s interesting that Odo was the autistic absolutist character of ds9, much like Data, Seven of Nine, T’Pol, Spock, Elnor, and Tilly.
They all (Except maybe Tilly) start with belligerent, absolutist puritan takes, hostile to all that oppose, and as they grow and learn and mature, they realize how complex things really are, for themselves, politics, and each and every other person. Many ST characters are like this, but there’s always one main difficult autistic coded character. And they’re never truly the enemy, but it would be too easy to write them off as such.
In other words, they slowly learn empathy from those around them who perpetually teach and give them grace.
The Cardassians (and Founders) were both defeated (eventually).
and kai winns regime.
Thanks for the spoiler.

I never liked her.
I’m still waiting for the Garak Show, all Garak all the time
I always loved her and I’m still waiting for the Garak show.
I’ve read Garak Show but my mind went somewhere else.

We could have an animated show, too, don’t get me wrong.
I was thinking more like “Seinfeld” in space but it’s Barak as lead in his apartment when he’s not working. Like the other side of his life.
Every episode he tricks that gross nosy changeling and that whiny bajoran and they are the butt of every joke, they’re so dumb they don’t even know they’ve been humiliated. Quark gets it and they share a secret smile.
I recently watched Hellraiser for the first time. Seeing a skinless Garak was very unexpected.
I lost some respect for her when she wouldn’t try to convince the Bajoran Provisional Government to allow Skrreean refugees to settle on Bajor.
