Oh, yes, it’s GF night today. We usually observe two traditions on that day: We have the Town Twinning Committee meeting on GF night, and, of course, watching “V for Vendetta”.

I vaguely remember, aged around six, asking for a “Penny for the Guy” after making one and sticking him outside our front door. Our garden was too small for a bonfire so we didn’t burn him, but Dad set off a box of fireworks. I burned my hand picking up a dead sparkler; taught me a valuable lesson!
