Wow really? I honestly thought a large percentage of people only ever listen to stuff they heard in high school and college for the rest of their lives like it defined them.

I try my hardest to give new stuff a listen. I like music a lot so its enjoyable, but it does get harder the older I get to keep up. Theres something amazing for every genre if you look hard enough.

      I’m constantly finding music that I love…

But I do notice that most of it was released around the time we’re talking about.

      Tap for spoiler

Spoiler edit! Not your life. I know your life always sucked. I know you cant relate to having even a single pleasant memory. No need to turn it into a pity party. Move on.

Why does music have to relate to a time when life didn’t suck for it to mean the most? If anything I think most of the music people listened to in high school was emotional and an outlet for people who were trying to find who they were. Plenty of those people were probably more angry then than they are now.

I like life, no issues with it. I probably enjoyed it more 20 years ago then I do now, but I have hopes things will be better in the next few years. Not everyone on Lemmy hates everything.

It’s more like an exciting time of life where radical changes in our thinking are occurring and who are to be is being set. Not only do I still love “my” music, I have mostly the same sexual tastes. I’ll be in the nursing home jerkin’ it to Metallica and tiny tittie porn.
