Just as the title says, tell me your most recent dream and I will perform a dream analysis of dubious distinction. Trust me I’m an expert.

I went to take a shower and in my shower there was a big sturdy spider web with 4-6 big/adult cockroaches suspended in it. I got a small kitchen knife and stabbed the roaches with it. Once I killed them all I woke up.

I have had problems with roaches in that shower before. Not an infestation, but they would find their way up through the drain every once in a while. And I’m pretty afraid of them. The small kitchen knife was a little paring/peeling knife that I bought recently.
I appreciated that there was a spider who was able to catch the roaches, but worried that there were so many of them in the first place.

    Please analyze this. Thank you.

This is one of the most difficult yet. I’m afraid I might really screw this one up, but I’ll try my best.

      Analysis:

Hypothesis 1 - you might just be processing irrational, but quite common and natural fears of insects. If so, you can take this dream at face value. They are terrifying to you and persistent, so your subconcious is trying to grapple with the inevitability of the next encounter. This may be disapointing to read, but dream analysis has so much connection to strong emotions, that I’d estimate this as 80% most likely. No hidden meaning or subtle imagery leading to insight. Bugs creep you out and this dream is like an immune reaction between the rational harmless nature of them, and the irrational involuntary fearful reaction. It’s not entirely unlike PTSD suffering moments of reliving trauma, just at the scale of creepy bugs.

However, there is a chance I’m misinterpreting this because of all the strong emotions, fear can be one of the trickiest to interpret. Irrational fears are even more difficult, and instinctive irrational fears like phobias, the most difficult to interpret of all. I’d estimate a 20% chance of the following alternative hypothesis. Your description contains subtle clues that open up this small possibility.

      Hypothesis 2:

Something or someone is confronting you. Not just an obstacle, but the possibility of open conflict. What was once subtle and understated, now risks tearing at the seams. Your opponent, is neither malevolent, nor holding a personal grudge, but you are in their way, and they will boot stomp you if they have to.

You on the other hand are just doing what you beleive is right and expected of you. You are following the rules and confident in your position. Neither help nor hindrance is intended to your opponent and you see yourself as neutral, but you are blocking them from achieving something important to them.

An alarm is going off in your head that something bad is going to happen to you if this can’t be resolved. You haven’t decided what to do about it, but you have options to consider. Capitulate and withdraw your obstruction, but suffer a wound to your integrity. You could keep your obstruction intact and help your opponent overcome your barrier - as close to a win win as you can get, but those around you two may perceive this as collusion. You could stand your ground as is, but you understand you will suffer the other’s wrath and make an enemy in the process. Other possibilities exist, like going on the attack, but the one thing you understand is there is no perfect choice. No matter what you do, you will have positive and negative outcomes, but you are grateful you have the choice to pick your poison and choose the lesser of two evils.
