I have one of these too! I bought it with the other things in my macro attachments. Very compact and cheap bit of kit. It produces an ultra short DOF so it’s only good if I’m capturing something on a flat plane using a tripod or if I end up doing focus stacking like I’ve been discussing with another commenter

I’ve heard of focus stacking but haven’t tried it yet. I suppose I’d need a way to jog the focus in steps or something while taking a series of shots from the same distance? All my pictures are free hand, not on a tripod, and outside where the wind blows things around so I don’t know how I’d get a steady stepped series of shots, if that’s required.

Thanks! It’s a Canon 700D, with a 200mm zoom lens, offset from the body by a stack of 40mm of tube extenders, which turn the zoom lens into a macro lens.

It’s a setup I really like, as I can get macro and zoom shots on my hikes with one lens, and a quick attachment change.

This is my usage as a single person in a 100sqm house who cooks on electric stove or oven 3-4 times a week, with electric hot water and no AC or dryer usage in the last month. About 16-18kwh per day.

Using the AC, dryer, or cooking more frequently would increase my usage, but not by much, maybe to 20kwh per day at most.

I do run 3 servers 24/7 but they don’t seem to consume much power.

Incidentally these stats are from my solar power system and show that I’m almost fully self-sufficient on my battery and solar, so I’m not very miserly with power, it’s basically free to me so I use it pretty carelessly

40kwh a day seems extreme for a single person, but for a family of 2 or 3 it’s probably reasonable.
