    My personal prices for each:

    Live grub: $50

    Large raw onion: $25

    Carolina Reaper: $100

    Century egg: $10

None of these are even $1000 foods, much less $1,000,000 foods.

If you offered me $1 million to eat all four, I’d do it without thinking twice about it.

What is the thing on the bottom right?

But as someone who likes onions, this is a no-brainer. I’ll eat a dozen onions like they were apples for that much money!

Century Eggs are raw eggs kinda cured with lye I think. I’ve eaten one just because I was in China. They’re fine, probably better than a raw brown onion.

I will take your word for it. But I will still go with onions all the same, because I never had a century egg, but like I said, I am super familiar with all sorts of onions. Better the devil you know and all that.

I think I heard of them. I do not know anything about them. So I will be eating onions. carolina reapers are simply too hot. Onions? Spicy, but very manageable. Also onions are good for you. They’re the most popular vegetable in the world!

Bugs one bite would be no issue for 1 million. Maybe even 100 dollars to be honest depends if I had a few beers in me and was at some kind of social event.

Onion would be fine, no qualms there. I would do it for 20.

Would prefer not to do the pepper but again I would do the pepper for 100 bucks in the right setting. I’ve had this exact scenario at a restaurant before when we had some drinks in us.

Wouldn’t do the egg. Would do it for a million but it would be the only one that would feel like a actual challenge.

Yes, I was delicious, but the public wasn’t ready for it so I sold terribly and Salty took me off his damn menu and locked me away down here. And now you know my cool fucking backstory.

A couple of years ago I grew some habanero peppers in my garden. One of the plants had been mislabeled, however, and turned out to be carolina reapers. Eating them didn’t feel like normal hot peppers – it felt like I had been punched hard in the lips.

We grew some reapers intentionally once and we quickly figured out the best way to use them was to chop them up, scrape them into the compost bin, and then cut other stuff without washing the cutting board.

One of them chopped finely in a stir fry is fine, but only if you’re looking to eat something actually hot. For a crock pot full of a chilli meat/bean sauce, one reaper and a couple of bhut jolokia is about right for a nice medium heat.

$1 Million dollars is a lot of money and with these options you’re risks are: overdoing a pleasant snack (onion), discovering a new delicacy (century egg), an unpleasant flavor and texture (grub), or like twenty cumulative minutes of fiery pain (carolina reaper).

For $100, none of these are worth it unless we’re allowed to prepare them in some sort of dish. For $1000, I’ll eat a raw onion. For $10,000, anything but the grub, even all three.

For $1 Million? I’ll eat all four of these, raw (possibly wriggling), and ask for seconds, if required. I’d be a fool to do otherwise.

or like twenty cumulative minutes of fiery pain (carolina reaper).

For a single reaper, sure. For the entire container of them that’s probably at least the rest of your day ruined.

When it comes to really hot peppers, its more than the pain going in. They strike again on the other end. I didn’t think about that the first time I ate a ghost pepper and then spent the next day roaming around Washington DC.

For me it’s the heartburn and the hiccups. My mouth and anus can take the hottest peppers in the world, the rest of me really can’t.

Oof. I can’t imagine that kind of heartburn. I’ve only had normal hb once from too many chicken wings but I do remember feeling like my stomach was empty all day even after eating food. It made me feel a bit weak for several hours.

False. Any dollar amount over like $20 and the onion is a good choice unless you must eat the skin. In which case IDK a hundo is probably sufficient.

I paid to eat bugs from a food cart in Thailand, though they were cooked and seasoned.
