Title… I understand that now that they’re paired with Persona for ID verification, its no longer a viable option. But what are some other options then?

EDIT: Edited Title to reflect the actual service privacy.com provided

I see people mentioning you can do card making with banks, which is true, but those banks already know your identity, and probably do worse with your data. The whole point of the intermediary is to mask your purchases from your bank.

Unless you’re faced with Persona yourself and are trying to avoid it specifically, I’m not sure if it alone is a reason to avoid Privacy. Any online bank like this will require your identity. (Maybe you can contact them and ask for an alternative method.)

Capital One has virtual cards, and Discover inherited this feature after Capital One acquired them.

Not necessarily better but if you already have either, might as well use it

    Cash? Cryptocurrency?

Most financial companies are bound by law to conduct KYC. Not much you can do to evade those laws and still use the platform.

That is mostly understandable. Privacy.com was also KYC, I’m not looking to avoid KYC, rather an alternative to their sevices, as now they’ve paired up with Persona, which has had several leaks full of people’s ID. I’m just looking for other virtual CC service provider

So I just happened to need almost the same thing today, and I couldn’t really find a good alternative. Wise might be the best option. Chime is the one I ended up going with because I needed a debit card.

(My gym is being scummy and saying their payment processor isn’t taking credit cards any more, despite my card on file working just fine until now. And they say they need the debit card and account/routing numbers for EFT. It’s a load of bullshit. So they get a separate account entirely.)
