everywhere I’ve worked that was foolish enough to give me access to a label printer, regardless of whether I got fired or left voluntarily, will be finding goofy label printed jokes stuck in unhinged places for decades

How can they both be massive? They have to be massive compared to something for scale (like, a can of beans), otherwise they just come out as normal sized. I’m just not seeing it.

maybe the fact that nobody else who works there is competent enough to do that is part of the reason they hated working there

So windows can sit and spin it’s little mouse cursor and say “working on it!” and never actually come back with any results.

That’s why you need an instant indexed search tool like Everything.

(I know this is a joke thread, I just love this tool so much - I have 5 million files on one computer and to have it instantly search filenames taking next to zero resources, as a totally free offline tool, from a time before subscriptions and bloat, warms my cold heart and I want to share that feeling.)

I don’t think any of you making this comment have worked in a small office before. For most, the closest thing resembling IT is when there’s a problem Becky calls her grandson.

Mate, even absolute nutjobs use the (garbage!) search. I have watched people use the search to find the folders/files they use all day every day. I stood next to them while they did it. I died a little inside.

Probably after a “recent” update. searching network locations used to work fine if the target machine had indexed it, but ms updated to a new search and I could never fix it after that.

Found out I was getting fired so I got a bag of 1000 peel and stick googly eyes and put them in places they’re still finding them. 10 years ago

      • Or from management’s perspective “goddamn it more time wasted removing these googly eyes!”

I once was a googly-eye-bomber at work, and the store manager called the district manager about it and we had a store-wide meeting to try and figure out who was doing it. Kept going on about wasting company time and (hilariously) “wage theft”

Everyone except the managers loved the googly eyes on things and thought it was hilarious when large ones went up on a poster covering the back wall. Usually it was just mannequins or equipment that vaguely looked like faces

May this break them of the habit of ever opening a .doc called “Please Read”.
